For the salubris domain was the soul. Surviving diablerie was childs play to a salubri of significant age. And it is this night,a ancient being rose. he is the Son of the luminarys blood,brother of the songstress,the warrior prophet who bears the Lightbringers old name,and the Sire of all salubri who are bloodied in the path of the warriors code. Samiel returns. And his fury shall be as merciless as is his mercy. For the blood of caine does not make his fate. He left the vampiric condition behind when he alongside the rest of his clan became the first forgiven.

I love the part in the novel where one of the Imperial Fists (Wallname: Daylight) first sees the Orks after the greenskins make planetfall, and is baffled that they are able to operate on such complex tactical level. It really helps to show the reader the level of threat the Imperium is dealing with here. Which is why I find it even more baffling that even several millenia after WAAAGH! The Beast happened, there are many within the Imperium who continue to underestimate and belittle the Orks.

Also, I feel like we need more stories like this. My biggest fear about Orks is that they become like Klingons were for Star Trek: Tropes and joke material. Yeah, the stories with them just having fun are... Well, they are fun, but when they are the enemy of the story, it's good to really drive home how terrifying these guys can be.

When this part happened while I was listening to it... I froze. It was such a brilliant double meaning for the title.

Considering the Orkz almost killed the Emperor of Mankind and Horus had to save his life, the Orkz should always be feared and never underestimated.

It's irony of this is despite how gruesome and terrifying it is for the rest of the galaxy to fight these guys, the orks are just having fun. Brilliant work as always.

Can't blame the Lion for his initial hostility towards Dante, that helm is etched with the face of his brother Sanguinius. Then the feeling that he had made a terrible misjudgement of both Dante and the Blood Angels as they showed reverence to another returned son of the Emperor. Finally ending with a remark that expresses relief but at least to me a question, the Lion is not alone, Roboute Gulliman is leading the Imperium.
